When I think of my brother, Ben I remember so many wonderful memories of our lives as a family growing up together. I have always been proud of my brother and his determination to make a difference in the lives of others. His commitment to doing an excellent job as he stood up for his beliefs as an Army medical corpsman , then as a member of the WV House of Delegates and in business where he continued to uphold the traditions of honesty and reliability that our father began as an outstanding realtor, Ben’s family was so important to him. He loved to share with me stories of what was going on with every one in his family. He was so proud of and bragged about the many accomplishments of his beautiful granddaughter, Ruby. He enjoyed so much his relationship with our brother, Jonathan . He always shared with me their antics. My love, comfort and gratitude go to Susan Jennifer, Beth, Ruby, and Jonathan who all visited and cared for him in the past two plus months that Ben was in the hospital. So glad he has no more pain. I can hardly believe he is gone. I will miss our visits, picnics, and family reunions with him nearly every year, and our periodic long distant phone calls to my home in New Jersey. We would laugh, cry, and talk of old times and the current hopes for our families. Often we would share a new recipe we had discovered as we both loved to cook and to eat. He loved his home and feeding the many birds and animals that came to visit. I will miss him so much. May you rest in God’s peace , my dear brother.
