I was saddened to recently hear of June Conaway's passing away. She was a dear friend of mine from the General Federation of Women's Club in the 1970's-1980's. She was a warm and hospitable person and always took the initiative in forming friendships. She will always be remembered for her generous and caring personality.

It was sad to hear that June had passed away. June was a mentor to me and gave me the opportunity to be the Community Improvement Program chairman in GFWC WV, which I appreciated very much. I represented the state at Crystal City VA where I met chairman from other states. She helped me in a lot of other ways.
We had not been in touch for a few years, but I used to receive a birthday card from her every year and thought of her often.
She will be missed.
