Growing up in New Cumberland Tomlinson State Park was the place to swim, hike, meet your friends. Herman was always around. Saying hello. asking how we were doing. Myself and others always thought he should be the park Superintendent. It was also always nice to see his wife and daughter. When I became old enough to work I got a job cutting grass and doing labor at the park. Herman was our boss. He was a great boss and he would work with us sometimes. Always smiling or laughing. Asking about my mother and grandparents. A great working summer. I hated to see him leave. Hoping he would stay , but. Often wondered what state park he went to. He was a special person to me . A great boss. A person that was right for the profession he choose to do as is life's work .I will never forget him .
