To the Hayes family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Pete was always nice to me and very courteous when he came to visit his mother at Marion Unity Apartments. Pete was one of the most fun people to be around that I have ever had the good fortune to have known. At least two of my favorite rounds of golf were with my son playing against Pete and Mark. He was extremely competive and at the same time enjoyed the game and the persons with whom he played immensely. Memories of him make me smile.

I realize that there is not anything that I can say to ease the pain. However, I want you all to know that I will never forget Petie and all that he did for me when I was trying to learn to wrestle in High School. I always saw him at the Mountain State Auto Auction and he always had a great smile and even better words to help my day go better. Friends like him are far too few in this life. I know that we will see him again but he will be missed and I will not forget him.

I am so thankful to have known Pete. He was always someone to brighten your day with great conversation. When I saw Pete anywhere he would always take time to stop and talk about whatever was on our minds. It was always a pleasure. The rounds of golf I was fortunate to play with him were always the best, lots of laughs and great company the way it should be. Pete was one of kind. He loved his family deeply and I am sorry for your loss.
