Obituary of Garnet L. Dye

     Garnet Louise (Westfall) Dye departed this life on July 11, 2017. The third child of Earnest Dale and Josephine (Fields) Westfall, Garnet attended the schools of Roane County and graduated from Spencer High School with the class of 1961.
     On September 19, 1963, she married Robert Dale Dye, who survives at their home. She is survived by son Alan and wife Lori and family of Flemington, WV and son David and wife Amanda of Lost Creek, WV.  Three grandsons, Nathan, Brian, and Noah Dye and a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Jane Dye. Sisters Kathryn Westfall and husband Larry of Edgewater, Florida, Doris Hannah of Pearisburg, Virginia and Richard Westfall and wife Tina of St. Mary's, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby Westfall.
     Garnet was an excellent cook and loved to feed her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilting. She loved all sports, especially Bridgeport High School and WVU sports. She enjoyed her grandchildren, going to the beach and camping in Elkins.
     According to her wishes she has been cremated. The family requests that any expression of condolence be in the form of a donation to the Autism Services Center, 929 Fourth Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701, the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. A joint
memorial service will be held upon her husband’s passing.
