Obituary of Helen L. Hardesty

Helen L Hardesty 90 of Fairmont, WV peacefully gained her Angel wings on December 24, 2022. Helen was born in Fairmont to the late Rev. Calvin Ray and Olive Wade Ferguson. She was married to Edward L. (Sonny) Hardesty for 48 yrs. She is survived by 2 sons, Rex A. (Kathy) and Jeffrey T. (Kimberly) Hardesty.4 grandchildren Zachary T Hardesty, Rachel (Lewis) Boyce, Traci Hardesty (Bobby), Shelby Hardesty (Cam). 5 great grandchildren Zayden and Myles Gordon, Adellei (Adie) Hardesty, Layla Jayne and Quentin (Quinty) Boyce all of Fairmont. A sister, Doris Shaw of Virginia, a brother Paul Ferguson (Patty) of Maryland, step sister Linda Poling. 5 sisters-in-law, Martha Lanham, Ola Yoston, Mary Hardesty, Nancy Hardesty, and Carol Hardesty. Brother-in-law Kenny Hardesty. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Donald Ferguson, brother-in-law John Shaw, step mother Catherine Ferguson, 2 step sisters Becky Blair and Julia Shreve. Helen Will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, love of family and God. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sunsets from her front porch, and her family. Visitation will be at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on 1/4/2023 from 11-2 with the Pastor Richard Wilson and Pastor Charles Fancher presiding burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
