Obituary of James Edward Friend

James Edward Friend, 81, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at his home. He was born in Fairmont on November 9, 1939, son of the late Carl Edward Friend and Louise Ona Wolfe Friend. Eddie is survived by daughter Cheryl Davis, daughter Debra Weaver, son Daniel and Laurie Friend, son Steven and Becky Friend, and son Patrick Friend; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Karen Sue Rauer. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lois Steele Friend and brothers Sandy Friend and Raymond Friend. Eddie worked as a driver for RC Cola and then for 36 years at Westinghouse. He loved to spend time caring for his pigeons at his home at Green Acres Loft along with his other farm animals. The family would like to extend their thanks to WV Caring Hospice for their care and compassion.
