Obituary of Kevin Alan Nichols

Kevin Alan Nichols, 46, of Fairmont, passed away on October 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 11, 1974 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late John William and Sandra Jean Kelley Nichols. He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Kelly Ash Nichols. Kevin attended Trinity Assembly of God Church in Fairmont. He was a 1993 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and was employed with Murray Energy where he served as a trackman at Blacksville #2 mine. Kevin enjoyed fishing and spending time on the Tygart River. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Football teams, as well as taking trips with the family to Daytona Beach and to Disneyworld. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Timothy Nichols of Barrackville, his brothers John and his wife Melissa Nichols of North Carolina, James and his wife Julie Nichols of Fairmont, Carl Nichols and his companion Bryanna Ordiway of Fairmont, his sisters, Brenda and her husband Roy Perkins of Grant Town, and Kimberly and her husband Mark Yow of Fairmont, as well as his parents-in-law, John and Laura Ash of Fairmont, a sister-in-law Tammy Lance of Shinnston; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Lance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Kevin’s memory to the Marion County Humane Society, P.O. Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26554. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. We appreciate in the unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic that attending a visitation or funeral may not be in your best interest. Be with the family in prayer. Should you be able to celebrate his life, social distancing and masks will be required. The family will receive friends at Trinity Assembly of God, 70 Maranatha Drive, Fairmont, WV on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
