Obituary of Barbara Burnworth Coe

Barbara Sweet Mason Burnworth Coe, 97, of Fairmont, West Virginia died Saturday, September 5, 2020 at The Retreat in Berryville, VA. She was born May 29, 1923 in Grafton, WV the daughter of the late Hugh Nay Mason & Mildred Maude Warden Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Conrad Coe in 2019. Mrs. Coe is survived by a son and daughter in law Dennis & Jean Burnworth of Clarksburg, WV, 2 daughters and son in laws Donna & Michael Baron of Keedysville, MD and Terry & David Lawson of Berryville, VA, a brother and sister in law Jack H. & Sally Mason of Fairmont, WV, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald G. Burnworth, 2 brothers Hugh R. “Jinx” Mason & David Mason and a granddaughter Carly Ann Burnworth. Barbara was a homemaker, formerly employed for the Westinghouse Corporation and as a clerk for the Hartley’s Department Store in the lingerie department. She was a 1941 graduate of East Fairmont High School. Barbara enjoyed playing the guitar and fiddle. She also liked bowling, swimming, playing board games, photography, and cooking for family and friends.
