Obituary of David Monroe Heston
David Monroe Heston, 58, of Fairmont, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday evening, August 27, 2020, in Fairmont. He was born January 28, 1962 in Fairmont a son of Thomas E. and Ruth Frame Heston. He is survived by his loving partner of 24 years, Phyllis Vincent.
David was employed with Mylan Pharmaceutical in Morgantown where he worked in the weighing and mixture departments for over 10 years, he had previously been an owner and operator of Heston Repair Center in Pleasant Valley where he worked for over 15 years with his father. Prior to self-employment, he worked with M.A. Heston for over 20 years where he worked construction. David was a 1980 graduate of East Fairmont High School. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Fairmont Lodge #9, and the Osiris Shrine Club. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Fairmont # 2373, and the Fairmont Moose Lodge No.9.
David had an appreciation of antiques. He enjoyed meticulously restoring antique motorcycles and cars down to the last detail. He was an excellent carpenter, having restored his home from top to bottom. David was a loving and jovial person who loved to be around his friends and family. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
In addition to his parents and life partner, he is survived by his brother, Thomas Eugene and his wife Susie Heston, of Pleasant Valley, his sister, Roxanne and her husband Donald Loughery of Bunner Ridge, his nieces and nephews, Duaine and his wife Jane Heston, of Idamay, Brandon Loughery of MA, and Brittney and her husband Nathan Tatterson, of Fairmont, as well as his companion Phyllis’s daughter, Kimberly Vincent of Strongsville, OH, and six great nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick Alan Heston, and his special cousin Mark A. Heston.
The family has entrusted care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Should you be able to celebrate his life, friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 2PM until 8PM, as well as on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 11AM with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. The interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
