Obituary of Joleen Evelyn Gabbert Haddox

Joleen Evelyn (Gabbert) Haddox, age 85 of Buckhannon, WV passed away at her daughter’s home on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. She was born October 5, 1934 in Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late William and Evelyn Gabbert. On August 2, 1951 she married her high school sweetheart, George O. Haddox who preceded her in death on October 5, 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her two sisters Joyce Rhoades and Judy Lefevre and grandson William Jenkins. Mrs. Haddox leaves behind one daughter Karen Jenkins and husband Allen of Buckhannon, WV; one son George William Haddox and wife Sharon of Simpsonville, SC; five granddaughters, Melissa Davis and husband Jim, Nikki Henderson and husband Edward, Joleen Metheney and husband Robert, Casey Black and husband Shawn; one grandson Tyson Haddox and wife Hilary; six great-granddaughters, Jordan Henderson, Brittney Henderson, Laurel Metheney, Leah Black, Serenity Haddox, Summer State; ten great-grandsons, Shannon Davis, Patrick Davis, Edward Henderson, Bear Metheney, Colt Metheney, Sean Panas, Joe Panas, Isaiah Haddox, Ja’den Haddox, Zeke Haddox. Mrs. Haddox, a beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma will be deeply missed by her family. She loved traveling around with her family while her husband was serving in the military, but loved her home state even more and was a proud Mountaineer fan. She had a great love of animals, and was especially fond of pigs. She had a fiery spirit and was the queen of sarcasm! A private graveside service with immediate family will take place at West Virginia National Cemetery.
