Obituary of Sarah Ellen Stevens

Sarah Ellen Stevens, 83, of Fairmont passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016. She was born on July 23, 1932, a daughter of the late Marner and Opal Moran King. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard E. Stevens. Sarah is survived by one son, Jeff (Sharon) of Shinnston; three daughters, Marlene of Morgantown, Darlene (Troy) of Oklahoma, Jo Anne (Gary) of Florida; her grandchildren, Jim, Aaron, Justin, Devin, Morgan, Nicholas, and Michael; many great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward and James King; and two sisters, Betty Henderson and Charlotte Harker. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Stevens and sisters, Lucretia Butcher and Jocelyn Rowe. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and was Methodist by faith. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at John Manchin Healthcare for all of the loving care given to our mother during her time spent with you. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. A committal service will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.
