Obituary of Mary Josephine Lee

Mary Josephine Lee, 79, of Fairmont passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, at her daughter’s residence. She was born in Fairmont on August 10, 1940, a daughter of the late Patsy Mattio Mugnano and Petrinia Beatrice Torch Mugnano. Mary is survived by her sons, Woody Lee and his wife Sarah of Farmington and Danny Lee of Bruceton Mills; her daughters, Lisa Moore of Fairmont and Teresa Stacy and her husband Russell of Fairmont; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Woodrow Lee Sr.; four brothers, Thomas, Frank, John, and Anthony Mugnano; and three sisters, Louise Drake, Frances Hawkins, and Patricia Ward. Mary was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and a member of Grace Fellowship Southern Baptist Church in Wana, WV where she was the Primary Class Sunday school teacher, prayer warrior, volunteer for vacation bible school, involved with mission projects, volunteer for Operation Christmas Child, Family House, and filling backpacks for school children. She served on many boards. Mary and her husband Woodrow were instrumental in fulfilling the vision of the Youth Building at Grace Fellowship. Both are greatly missed by their church family. She retired from North American Philips with 47 years of service as a utility relief operator. Mary was a volunteer at the soup opera, Samaritan’s Purse, Salvation Army, and the Union Mission. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Monday, August 3, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Edwards officiating.
