Obituary of Patricia Lee "Patty" Radford

Patricia “Patty” Lee Newbrough Radford, 91, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 following a short stay in the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 13, 1929 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Roy and Mamie Day Newbrough. She was preceded in death by her loving husband to whom she was married for 62 years, E. Russell Radford on July 7, 2009. Mrs. Radford was a Protestant by faith and attended East Fairmont High School. Patty was a very active and loving person to her family as well as to all her many friends. She was a very hard worker where she worked in many local stores such as Hartley’s, Stone and Thomas, Lang’s, Hess’s, and Sam’s Club. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Patty loved planning holidays for her whole family with such excitement. Having shared many precious years with her family, Patty’s memory will live on through them. She was a beautiful person and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Patty was a loving and caring mother to her three daughters, Sandra and her husband Carl VanGilder, Jr of Fairmont, Terri and her husband Mike Tatterson of Florida, and Beverly and her husband Jeff Mikol of Bridgeport. She had nine grandchildren, Carla (Chad) Williams of Fairmont, Crystal (Frank) Jacquez of Fairmont, Brent (Erin) VanGilder of North Carolina, Pastor Jason (Monica) Tatterson of Ohio, Bronson (Jenny) Tatterson of Ohio, Brittany Tatterson of North Carolina, Justin (Jessica) Mikol of Virginia, Joshua Mikol of Virginia, and Amanda (Chris) Church of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her sixteen great grandchildren, her sister, Mary Watkins of Fairmont, a brother, Ken and his wife Karen Newbrough of Parkersburg, her sister-in-law, Carol Newbrough of Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jim Newbrough and her brother-in-law, Arthur Watkins. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 1PM with Pastor Jason Tatterson officiating. Entombment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
