Obituary of Christine Cattafesta Jacobs
Christine Cattafesta Jacobs, 96, of Fairmont passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She was born in Fairmont on February 29, 1924, a daughter of the late Antonio and Congetina Cattafesta. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Jacobs on December 26, 1983.
Christine was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairmont. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and retired with the Westinghouse Corporation in Fairmont where she worked in many departments including the bulb preparation and lamp plant departments.
Christine was an avid bowler for many years where her team “Therapeutic Touch” won first place in their league. She won the first place prize for her spaghetti sauce and meatballs in the cooking contest at the Feast of the Seven Fishes. She enjoyed playing bingo with her girlfriends. Christine loved to attend her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. She had played on an organized young womens’ softball team and often coached her grandchildren on their sporting techniques. Christine was a crypto gram wiz, often solving the puzzle without writing in any answers. She enjoyed spending time on her porch surrounded by her flowers that she loved tending. Her greatest joy in her life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She said often, “I have the best kids in the world”.
Christine is survived by her; daughters, Pam Vincent and her husband Mike of Bunner Ridge and Kim Kime and her husband Bill of Bunner Ridge; son, Rick Jacobs and his wife Lisa of Thomaston, GA; eight grandchildren, Christal Crouso and her husband Denny, Patrick Vincent and his wife Brittany, Mikell Adair and her husband Chappy, Matt Kime and his wife Kassie, Justin Kime and his wife Sharon, Tyson Jacobs and his wife Carolyn, Andrew Jacobs, and Isabella Jacobs; 10 great grandchildren, Jacob Nuzum, Jackson Crouso, Charlotte Vincent, Mary Vincent, James Vincent, Foxx Adair, Finley Adair, Quinn Kime, Eva Kime, and Kate Kime; a special nephew, Dave Farrah along with many other loved nieces and nephews; and a special cat, Henry.
In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was preceded in death by her mother who raised her, Rose Cattafesta; her brothers, Nick Cattafesta and his wife Evelyn, Gustie Cattafesta and his wife Anna Virginia, John Cattafesta and his wife Bea, Guy Cattafesta, and Jimmy Cattafesta; and her sisters, Josephine Muto and her husband Joe and Cora Farrah and her husband Norm.

Should you be able to celebrate her life, the family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 329 Maryland Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Father Jojan Joseph C.S.T. as celebrant.
