Obituary of Karol Sue Long

Mrs. Karol Sue Long, 73 years of age of Fairmont, WV (formerly of State Street) passed away on May 7, 2020 surrounded by her family at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born September 29, 1946 in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Bud and Ella Florence Henderson Fluharty. She was preceded in death by her husband James Luther Long in 2012. They had celebrated forty-nine years of marriage. She is also survived by two daughters Darla and Robin Long both of Fairmont; two sons Bill Long and wife Tammy of Fairmont and John Long and wife Melody of Fairmont; seven grandchildren Zackary Long, Cory Long, Tanya Spicer, Johnny Long, Amanda Marino, Cobretti Cooper and Dustin Cooper and eight great grandchildren Kaden Long, Cole Long, Bexley Spicer, Landon Long, Carter Long, Tucker Long, Mia Marino and Santino Marino. She was the last surviving member of her family. Karol graduated from East Fairmont High School. Along with her husband, they made their home the gathering spot for family and friends. Everyone enjoyed her cooking and looked forward to family dinners. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karol’s memory to assist with the funeral expenses. A graveside service will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Clermont Cemetery, Marion County with Pastor John Abersold presiding.
