Obituary of Richard Andrew Fisher

Mr. Richard Andrew Fisher, 95 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the West Virginian Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He was born February 13, 1925 in Weston, WV the son of the late Bryan and Marie Clark Fisher. He is survived by his wife Betty Turner Fisher. They had celebrated seventy-two years of marriage. He is also survived by two daughters Nancy Johnson and her husband Gary and Terri Payez and her husband Tom both of Bridgeport, WV; two grandsons Richard William Johnson of Bridgeport, WV and Justin Michael Payez and his wife Megan Lebel Payez of Bristol, WV; four great grandchildren Madyson Avery Payez, Savannah Grace Payez, Carter Michael Payez and Austin Kane Payez; two sisters Dolores Chambers of Camden, WV and Phyllis Ellis of Madison, AL and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother Larry Fisher and two brothers-in-law Bill Chamber and Robert Ellis. His family knows he is celebrating in heaven with his brother Larry, friends Jack and Jess and his beloved schnauzer Joey. Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. He retired as a senior mechanic for Dominion. He enjoyed the outdoors. Along with family and friends, he fished at Stonewall Jackson Lake and took an occasional deep sea fishing trip off the coast of Virginia. He looked forward to the fall and hunting season. The men of the family would go to his cabin at Red Creek and hunt the mountains of West Virginia. His greatest joy was watching his two grandsons and great grandchildren enjoy life.
