Obituary of Julia Ann Maselli

Julia Ann Maselli, 92, of Rivesville, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at her residence. She was born January 9, 1928 in Catawba, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Derring Tokarz. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Maselli. Julia was an active member of the Rivesville Lady of Assumption Catholic Church until its closing. She was currently a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Fairmont. Julia was a graduate of Rivesville High School. After graduation, she began working at Owens-Illinois where she faithfully served until its closing in 1982. Julia is survived by her brother, Edward and wife Barbara Tokarz of Peculiar, MO; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Maselli of Greensburg, PA and Donald Maselli of Florida; nieces and nephews, Michael and Amy Tokarz of McCurdysville, Paula Tokarz Vangilder of Fairmont, Joe Tokarz of Missouri, and Mary Tokarz Benes of Nebraska; great-nephews, Jacob Vangilder of Fairmont and Daniel and his wife Janalee Thorn of Rivesville; great-niece, Stephanie Vangilder of Fairmont; and her cat, “Kitty”. In addition to her husband and parents, Julia was preceded in death by her daughters, Vickie Ann and Mary Margaret Maselli; her son, Gregory Michael Maselli; her sister, Rose Mary Tokarz; and her brothers, Joseph Tokarz Jr., Raymond Tokarz, Thomas Tokarz, and Paul Tokarz and his wife Wanda. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and caregiver, Joyanna Poe, for the loving care given to Julia during her illness. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Julia’s memory to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 407 Jackson St., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family has entrusted care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, WV 26588. Julia deserves a beautiful tribute. Should you be able to celebrate her life, friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Father Joseph Konikattil and Deacon David Lester presiding.
