Obituary of Rick Wray
Rick Wray, 63, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born September 17, 1956 in Clarksburg, WV a son of the late Carl L. and Patricia A. West Wray. He is survived by his wife, Diane Wray.
Rick was a member of the Covenant Church in Fairmont. He was a 1974 graduate of Huntington High School and attended Marshall University where he was a member of the defensive line for the Thundering Herd football team. Rick was a sales manager in the regional home improvement with Sears Corporation.
Rick loved his family and enjoyed hosting family gatherings at his home. He loved sports including golf, football, and baseball. His fondest memory on the golf course was watching Norm Floyd chip in from the sand to beat John Funkhouser on their annual beach golf trip. Rick had coached his children in basketball, football, baseball, and soccer. He was a two-time champ in the Tough-Man competition.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Josh and his wife Erin Wray, Jared Wray, and Amanda and her husband Josh Rogers, all of Fairmont, his grandchildren, Audra Rogers and Norah Wray. He is also survived by his brothers, Carl L. and his wife Gretchen Wray, Jr. of Huntington, WV, and David and his wife Kimberly Wray of Lumberport, WV, his sister Cathy Garner of Huntington, WV, as well as several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Wray, and his sister, Debbie White.

The family has entrusted the services to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In abiding with Rick’s wishes, cremation services will take place. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 10AM until 4PM. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 4PM with Pastor Josh Morgan officiating.
