Obituary of Elizabeth "Liz" Jones

Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Jones, 94 years of age passed away on April 11, 2020 at Northampton Manor Health Care Center in Frederick, MD. She was born May 19, 1925 in Clinton, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Troy and Mary Lane Faison. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Jones in 2016. She is survived by two sons Daryl Jones and his wife Allison of Frederick, MD and Clyde Jones of Frederick, MD; one daughter Gloria Jean Miller of Las Vegas, NV; a devoted sister-in-law, Evelyn Tucker, of Grant Town, WV and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family being preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters. Elizabeth retired after working many years at Westinghouse in Fairmont. She was a faithful Christian and was a devoted member of Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Grant Town, WV. She had a beautiful voice and shared her musical talent with the church congregation and her friends. She enjoyed shopping and cooking for her family and church. The love she gave will never be forgotten. We have entrusted the care and arrangement to Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother deserves a beautiful tribute. However, we appreciate in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic that attending a visitation may not be in your best interest. Please be with us in your prayers. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 17, 2020 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. A private committal service will follow.
