Obituary of Ivalou (Lamb) Bourne
Ivalou (Lamb) Bourne, 83, of Fairmont, West Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born May 30, 1936 in Douglas, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Marjorie Margaret Witte Lamb. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Carl Bourne.
Ivalou was a member of Katy Baptist Church where the Lord Jesus Christ blessed her with numerous Christ honoring messages under former Pastor Scott Richardson and present Pastor Marvin Stalnaker. She loved and cherished the time she was able to spend with her church family, and she will be greatly missed by all.
She could always be found busy with a project and she was a lady of many talents. She was never in one spot for very long and was busy sewing, making cards, writing letters, making throws, or (her favorite) working in the garden and yard. She was an avid lover of birds, always made sure they were fed, and she enjoyed watching them from her porch swing in the spring and summer. After Carl’s retirement, they enjoyed many winters in Florida camping where they made many life-long friends along the way. Her greatest joy was loving and taking care of her family. There was always food on the table, including her famous green beans, “smashed” potato salad, and fried mush. Her world revolved around her family, and she will be remembered as a kind, driven, patient, and gentle wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Ivalou is survived by her children, Kevin and his wife Mary Bourne of Fairmont, WV, Garry and his wife Ruthie Bourne of Fairmont, WV, and Joanna and her husband Alan Burr of Bellefontaine, OH. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Eric and his wife Lauren Bourne, Rachelle Bourne, Jami and her husband Zavian Glass, Shawn and his wife Ashley Bourne, Chase and his wife Becca Burr, and Connor Burr and his fiancé Chloe Mitchell. She also was a proud great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren: Kristen Bourne; Jaylin, Zoey, and Eivin Glass; and Macy Bourne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Lee Lamb Carr, Virgie Lou Lamb, Nell Ruth Lamb; and her brother Harold Frederick Lamb.
The family would like to thank the Marion County Rescue Squad, Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and the nurses and doctors at Ruby Memorial Hospital in the SICU for their outpouring of kindness during this difficult time.
Memorial donations may be made to the Katy Baptist Church, 55 Katy Road, Fairmont, WV 26554. .
