Obituary of Margaret "Margie" L. Riffle

Margaret L. “Margie” Riffle, 88, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at her residence. She was born November 18, 1931 in Fairmont a daughter of the late Harmon and Helena Maddox Saunders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Riffle, on May 26, 1992. Mrs. Riffle was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of The Baptist Temple in Fairmont where she belonged to the Brown-Davis Circle as well as the Thursday morning Bible Study. Margie enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, as well as traveling with family and friends. She loved to read. She was a craft club member and enjoyed watching WVU Mountaineer sports. Mrs. Riffle is survived by her sons, Chuck and his wife Tracy Riffle of Stephens City, VA, and Jimmy and his wife Cassie Riffle of Fairmont, her grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Bri Riffle of Hedgesville, WV, Courtney and her husband John Medved of Front Royal, VA, Elisabeth and her husband Jimmy Huffman of Strasburg, WV, and Taylor Riffle of Newport News, VA. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Lily and Wyatt. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two infant sons, her granddaughter, Katie Riffle, her brother, James “Jim” Saunders, and her sisters, Lillian “Diddy” Saunders and Dolris “Dottie” Layman. Memorial contributions may be made to The Baptist Temple, 430 Morgantown Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 5PM until 8PM. Mrs. Riffle will lie in state at The Baptist Temple on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the church at 11AM with Rev. Dr. Allan Copenhaver officiating.
