Obituary of Millard Leroy "Peel" Summers

Millard Leroy “Peel” Summers, 92, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 31, 1927, a son of the late Ormond Stephen Summers and Alice Marie Swisher Summers. Peel is survived by his daughters, Donna Brooks of Hephzibah, GA and Sharon Scarcella and her husband John of Fairmont; grandchildren, Joshua Scarcella of Fairmont and Sarah Beasley of Augusta, GA; great-grandchildren, Ana and Arthur Beasley of Augusta, GA; brother, Jerry Summers of Catawba; and sister, Geraldine Black and her husband Bob of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. In addition to his parents, Peel was preceded in death by his wife, Aldine Ruth Yost Summers and a sister, Glendine Weaver. Peel was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and served in the United States Navy. He attended Catawba United Methodist Church and was a retired fireman for Pratt-Whitney Aircraft of West Palm Beach, FL. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Peel’s memory to Catawba United Methodist Church, 22 Light Dr., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. A private committal service will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
