Obituary of Michael Joe "Joey" Kovack Jr.

Michael Joe “Joey” Kovack Jr., 47, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Fairmont on March 29, 1972, a son of Michael Kovack and Jacqueline Bagwell Kovack. In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by his wife, Michelle Faulkner; sons, Austin Kovack, Aaron Kovack, and Kaden Faulkner; daughter, Darian Faulkner; aunts and uncles, Rodney and Betty Kovack, Junior Goddard, Wanda Fultz, Nancy Aspinall, Diana Conner, and James and Carolyn Bagwell; as well as many cousins. Joey was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Robbie” LeRoy Kovack; grandparents, Joe and Dorothy Kovack and Ernest and Edythe Bagwell; aunts and uncles, Kenny and June Kovack and Patty Goddard; and cousins, Kenny Joe Kovack, Tina Kovack, and Jason Goddard. Joey worked as a Pharmacist at New Pointe Pharmacy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing basketball. He loved to spend time with his family. In accordance with Joey’s wishes, he will be cremated. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV, 26588, on Thursday, March 5, 2020, from 12 noon until 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 6 p.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. A bereavement dinner will be held at the Rivesville Community Building, 200 Jasper St., Rivesville, WV 26588, following the memorial service.
