Obituary of Emma Madelyn Lusk

Emma “Madelyn” Lusk, 94, of Bridgeport, went to be with our Lord on March 1, 2020. She was born October 5, 1925 a daughter of the late Mary Alice Weese and Walter Mills. She spent her childhood and young adult hood living in Richwood WV, moving to Bridgeport in 1962. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, EG, son David of Louisville Kentucky, and daughter Jane Lister and husband Rick of Eagle River, Alaska, a sister Eleanor Weaver, brother Bill Mills, five grandchildren, Charles Lusk, Matthew Lusk, Heidi Lusk Johnston, Nora Ellen Lusk and RJ Lister and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Madelyn was preceded in death by son, Tim, a brother Howard Mills, and sisters Dale Catlette and Mildred Barrrackman. Madelyn was a loving wife and mother as well as an accomplished seamstress, artist, gardener and basket weaver. She was an active member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church, the Temple Sunday School Class and the Hazel Curry Fowler Circle. Instead of a traditional service in the sanctuary, we will honor Madelyn’s life with a gathering of family and friends in the Simpson Creek Baptist Church fellowship hall on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1:00 PM -2:30 PM and a brief service following of a remembrance and celebration with light refreshments being served afterwards.
