Obituary of Carolyn Lee Watkins Wable

Carolyn Lee Watkins Wable, 76, of Rivesville, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Fairmont on August 22, 1943, the daughter of the late Denzil Lee Watkins and Mary Louise Weekly Watkins. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Larry Wayne Wable of Rivesville; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jim DeWees of Westminster, MD; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Teresa Wable of Cheshire, CT; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie DeWess, Brett DeWess, Gavin DeWees, Benjamin Wable, Jack Wable, Paul Wable, William Wable, Kate Wable and Andrew Wable. Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Rivesville High School and earned her Nursing Degree from Fairmont State College. She worked as a registered nurse in the operating room at Fairmont General Hospital for over 52 years. She loved her job and Fairmont General. Carolyn was a member of Rivesville United Methodist Church and was an avid fan of WVU football and basketball. She loved following her children and grandchildren in sports. She enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC with her family and close friends. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Carolyn’s memory to Rivesville United Methodist Church, PO Box 182, Rivesville, WV 26588. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Monday, February 17, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield and Pastor David Stilgenbauer officiating.
