Obituary of Edith Louise Parrack Bragg
Edith Louise (Parrack) Bragg, 84, of Kingmont, Pleasant Valley Community, West Virginia, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 10, 2020. She was born on December 13, 1935 in Millersville, WV, to the late Ebert L. Parrack and Ethel C. Springer Parrack. Edith’s mother passed away when she was three days old and she was raised by her maternal grandparents. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Frederick Bragg, Kingmont, WV.
Edith is survived by her sons, William Robert “Bob” (Jonnett) Bragg of Rivesville; Jerry Douglas (Karla) Bragg of Kingmont; and daughter-in-law, Patty Bragg of Millersville. She dearly loved and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jason Bragg, Kingmont; Shannon (Doug) Mercer and their sons, Drew and Cameron, Wadestown; Desiree Hardway and her daughters, Regan and Renzy, Fairmont; Carrie Bragg, Kingmont; Rick (Crystal) Kyer and Michael (Tricia) Kyer and their families, Millersville. She is survived by two sisters: Irene Loar and family, Lumberport, WV; and Cleo (Jack) Flaherty and family, Huber Heights, Ohio, along with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors, all of whom she held dear. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Lee Bragg; brother-in-law Eddie Loar; and brother, Bill Parrack.
Edith had a servant’s heart and a feisty spirit. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She never knew a stranger and was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone in need. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She loved to read and quilt and was gifted with a green thumb. She enjoyed spending time with her bowling league friends and faithfully served in the Kingmont United Methodist Church family and the Kingmont Women’s Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed attending all her family’s sporting and school events and traveling with family and friends. She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In her earlier years, she was employed at the Fairmont Theater in downtown Fairmont and Barb’s Store in Kingmont.
In honoring Edith’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest with her son, Phil, at the Bragg homeplace. There will be no public services. The Bragg family encourages all who knew Edith to remember her joy and love she always had to share and pass it on. Thank you for being a part of her precious life.
