Obituary of Richard Norman Griffin

Richard Norman Griffin, 71, of Fairmont, West Virginia died Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 14, 1948 in Fairmont, WV the son of Charles Edward Griffin & Anne L. Robinson Hutton. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Thomas Griffin. He is survived by his companion Linda Bond of Fairmont, WV, two half sisters and their spouses Karen & Mark Harbert of Fairmont, WV and Kelly & Kenny Sabo of Fairmont, WV, a step sister and her spouse Janet K. & John Kimbrew of Fairmont, WV, an uncle John Robinson of Huntington, WV, several nieces & nephews and a special friend Nathan Cantrell & his family of Hurricane, WV. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Michael Griffin. He was a former Disc Jockey/Announcer in Charleston, WV and a former owner/operator of a wholesale tropical flower business in Dunbar, WV and the Country Rose Flower Shop in Nitro, WV. He was Presbyterian by faith and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an E-4 Specialist and a radio repairman. He attended Marlington High School and graduated from St. Albans High School. Richard enjoyed music and played drums in many area bands. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
