Obituary of Henry Alben Hardesty Sr.
Mr. Henry Alben Hardesty Sr. 80 years of age of Fairmont, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He passed away peacefully in his sleep with family around him. He was born September 13, 1939 in Fairmont, WV the son of the late John and Edith Jane Martin Hardesty.
He survived by his loving wife Mary Eleanor Robinson Hardesty. They had celebrated sixty-two years of marriage. He is also survived by two sons Henry “Pete” Hardesty Jr. and his wife Debbie of Fairmont, WV and Bradley Hardesty of Fairmont, WV; a daughter Audrey Hardesty of Fairmont, WV; four grandchildren Stephanie Ice and husband D.J., Stacy Schwanke and husband Ben, John Hardesty and wife Chasidy and Brittany Hibbs and husband Brandon; 10 great grandchildren Nicholas Ice, Emma Ice, Owen Ice, Cara Schwanke, Andrew Schwanke, Allie Schwanke, Lily Schwanke, Kamren Hardesty, an anticipated birth of Zoey Hardesty and Ryan Hibbs; two brothers Kenneth Hardesty and wife Carol and Tom Jay Hardesty; two sisters Martha Lanham and Ola Yosten and her husband Alan; close friend Elijah “Bud” Kittle and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Edward and Homer Hardesty; four sisters Isabel Hughes, Glenda Neel, Betty Evans and Nellie Bower and two sisters-in-law Diane Hardesty and Darlene Hardesty.
Henry retired in 1995 as an electrician from Martinka Mines. He also worked for May Brothers Company in Fairmont. Henry and Mary attended for over fifty years Fellowship Baptist Church in the Meadowdale Community. His greatest love was his wife and family.
