William Haller

Obituary of William Dale Haller

     Mr. William Dale Haller, 87 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.  He was born October 15, 1932 in Lincoln, IL the son of the late William and Laura Bryant Haller.

     He is survived by his wife Emorie “Stevie” Hinman Haller.  They had celebrated 62 years of marriage.  He is also survived by two daughters and their husbands Pam and Jimmy Cooke of Cleveland, TN and Connie and Raymie Mason of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren Emmy Finnell, Courtney Kauffman and her husband Aaron, and Caitlin Adams and her husband Kyle; step grandchildren Ryan, Nicholas and Hayden Mason, Kellie Freitag and husband Matt and Jay Cooke; a great grandson Atticus Adams; a sister -in-law Joyce Haller, and a brother-in-law Dean Riedlinger.  He was also preceded in death by a brother Robert Haller and a sister Doris Riedlinger.

     Bill graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, IL with a degree in mathematics.  He was a veteran of United States Army.  He was a paratrooper of the 101st Airborne during the Korean Conflict.  He retired as the plant manager of Union Carbide in Anmoore, WV.  He had 37 ½ years of service.  He was an active member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church and the Bridgeport Country Club.  He was proud of being a member of the Nemesis Shrine and was a transport volunteer for children to the hospitals. 

     Whether at church, shrine meetings, or the golf course, he enjoyed spending time with his friends.  His greatest joy and love were his wife, daughters and their families.

     The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bill’s memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

     Friends will be received at Bridgeport United Methodist Church on Friday from 10:00 AM – noon.  The funeral service will be celebrated in the church on Friday, October 18, 2019 at noon with Reverend Dr. Ken A.
