Obituary of Loretta Marie Wilkins Perkins

Loretta Marie Wilkins Perkins, 76, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Needmore, WV on June 21, 1943, a daughter of the late Landis Roy Wilkins and Iva Elizabeth Combs Wilkins. Daughter- in-law of the late Ralph Perkins and Mamie Twyman Perkins.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Edgar Perkins Jr.; three children, Annette Perkins Henderson and her husband Dr. John Henderson of Elkins, Landis Perkins and his wife Lisa of Fairmont, Tracey Perkins Ryan and her husband Tim of Catlett, VA; 12 grandchildren, Stacie, Tiffany, Buck, Samantha, Todd, Garrett, Nolan, Jessica, Abigayle, Timmy, Hunter and Logan; seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Chloe, Colt, Easton, Ruby, Harper and Booker; three brothers, Llewellyn Wilkins and his wife Jean of Baker, WV, Landis Jr. Wilkins and his wife Betty of Winchester, VA, and Robert Wilkins and his wife Judy of Baker, WV; a sister, Marquetta Oates of Gore, WV; daughter-in-law, Lori Perkins of Millersville Community; brothers and sisters-in-law, Janet Wilkins, Ruth Saltern, Floyd Cowger, Shirley and Bill Cymbal, Joseph and Linda Perkins, Catherine and Gary Monell,; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Perkins; brother Denzil Wilkins and brothers and sisters-in-law, Harley Oates, Bob Saltern, John and Mary Jo Fargo, Clark and Jenny Kisner, Robert and Norma Perkins and Edith Cowger.

Loretta was a 1961 graduate of Wardensville High School and worked as a directory assistance operator for C&P, Bell Atlantic, and Verizon Telephone Companies. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge #9, the Sagebrush Country Music Association, and a bowling league for over 10 years. She was also WVU Mountaineers biggest fan!

Viewing will be held Friday July 19 from 2-8 pm at Ford Funeral Home 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. Viewing followed by funeral service will be held Saturday July 20, 11 am to 1 pm.at Mt.Zion United Methodist Church on Mt. Zion Rd.
