Obituary of Samuel Christian Murray

     Mr. Samuel Christian Murray, 31 years of age of Myrtle Beach, SC and formerly of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019.  He was born December 1, 1987 in Charlotte, NC the son of Michael Edward Murray of Hilton Head, SC and Elizabeth Gwen Craft Murray of Bridgeport, WV.

     Samuel is also survived by his companion Brittany Petro of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son Michael Murray, two daughters Isabella and Vada Murray; four brothers Christopher Murray, Edward Murray and companion Mikala Childress, Noah Murray and his companion Celina Reynolds, and Jonathan Murray:, one sister Rebekah Murray, and his grandparents Jane and Charles Findley.

    He graduated in 2007 from Bridgeport High School and attended Liberty University.  He was a member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church.  As a teenager, he spent many hours at the Bridgeport Fire Department.  His passion led him to graduate from the fire academy  and be employed by the City of Myrtle Beach as a fire fighter. 

     His parents have requested that people be aware that a heroin overdose took the life of their precious son.  The drug epidemic is destroying our families and our community.  Please be aware and do all you can to stop this plague.  Trust us, no family is exempt from this heartbreaking possibility.

     A Gathering of family and friends will be held at Simpson Creek Baptist Church, 231 West Philadelphia Avenue, Bridgeport, WV on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated in the church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. C.
