Obituary of Marilyn Yvonne Ball Ballou

Marilyn Yvonne Ball Ballou, 79, of Fairmont passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Bridgeport Healthcare Center. Marilyn was born in Baxter on October 4, 1939, a daughter of the late Samuel Columbus “Clem” Ball and Helen Grace Matyi Ball.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Robert Francis Ballou; her daughter, Patricia Ransford and her husband Paul of Fredericksburg, VA; two grandchildren, Veronica Ransford and Justin Knight; three brothers, David Ball, James Ball and Gary Ball; four sisters, Judy Bock, Nancy D’Amico, Sharon Kubeck and Susan Hurd; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Michael Andrew Ballou; a brother, Thomas Ball and a sister, Elsie Varga.

Marilyn was a 1957 graduate of Rivesville High School and attended Rivesville Baptist Church. She was a former telemarketer for Aegis Communications and also served as supervisor for Times West Virginian in the inserting department. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bird feeding and wildlife. She enjoyed genealogy, making jewelry and working her eBay account.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Marilyn’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Rivesville Baptist Church, 412 Main St., Rivesville, WV 26588. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
