Obituary of Ronald Richard Fry

Mr. Ronald Richard Fry, 68 years of age of Rivesville, WV passed away April 16, 2019 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center, Fairmont, WV.  He was born November 16, 1950 in Fairmont, WV the son of the late Harry and Veda Gilles Fry.

     He is survived by a sister Martha Freeland and her husband Arthur of Shinnston, WV; two brothers Larney Fry of Rivesville, WV and Harry Fry of Rivesville, WV.  He was also preceded in death by a brother Charles Fry and a sister-in-law Carolyn Fry.

     “Frenchie” attended Rivesville High School.  He loved his community and volunteered his services in many ways.  He was member of the Rivesville Fire Department, Rivesville Emergency Ambulance Service, Marion County Rescue Squad, Rivesville Library Board, Oaklawn Cemetery Board, and the Rivesville Lions Club.  He also supported the Rivesville Samaritan House and was on the advisory council of the Rivesville /Power Station Panel.  He was an elected official and served many years on Rivesville City Council.  He worked as an employee for the City of Rivesville for twenty-five years.  In the 1970’s, Ronald was recognized by the City of Rivesville as “Mr. Rivesville”. 

     He was a faithful member of Covenant Church.  “Frenchie” will always be remembered for his laughter and his enjoyment of family and friends.

     A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated in the Rivesville Fire Department, 12 Jackson Street, Rivesville, WV on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at noon with Pastor Roy Weese presiding.  The interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Rivesville, WV.
