Obituary of Dorothy Ann Cross Lang Drain

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Cross Lang Drain, 90 years of age passed away on April 9, 2019 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV.  She was born May 11, 1928 in Martins Ferry, OH, the daughter of the late Emery Marvin and Clara Lappert Cross.

She is survived by her husband Robert Drain; a son Gary D. Lang and his wife Janice; two step-daughters Tammy Russell and Kimberly Smith; a step-son James Drain; two grandchildren Kelly Lang and Joshua Lang; eight step grandchildren; two great grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter Shelly Williams.

Dorothy graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1946.  She worked as an operator for Belle Telephone Company and also worked for the Spatafore family in Bridgeport at Jacks Furniture Center.   She was a faithful member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport. 

She and her husband enjoyed traveling.  Being blessed with artistic talent, she was a painter and worked with crafts. 

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Lewis County Family Resource/Lewis County Food Pantry, 240 Court Avenue, Weston, WV 26452.

Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Friday from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.  The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM.  The interment will follow in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover, WV.
