Obituary of Gerald Edward Bell

Gerald Edward Bell, 77, of Fairmont passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. Gerald was born in Fairmont on May 12, 1941, a son of the late Robert and Mary Bell. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Bell.

Mr. Bell was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired Coal Miner from Consolidated Coal Company. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and loved traveling, fishing, watching football and basketball, going to church and working on cars. He was also a master carpenter.

Gerald is survived by his children, Sherry Singleton and her husband Lawrance of Morgantown, Carla Talkington of Fairmont, Rebecca Wyrick and her husband John of Bruceton Mills, and Charles Bell of Fairmont; ten grandchildren, Christopher and Cassie Staudenmaer, Jonathan and Nikki Talkington, Zechariah, Jeremiah and Korey Bender, C.J., Jaxan and Gracie Bell; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Vera Francis of Fairmont and Anna Mae Clyde of Port St. Lucie, FL.

In addition to his wife and parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Talkington.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Friday, March 29, 2019, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating.
