Obituary of Frances Elaine Coppula

     Frances Elaine Coppula, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019 with her loving husband Bill by her side. She was born on February 9, 1930 to Albert and Eleanora Wise. Elaine is survived by her husband of 66 years Fiore William “Bill” Coppula.

     Also surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bill and Kathy Coppula and AJ Coppula; two daughters and three sons-in-law Carol and Matt Geary, TC and Kyle Johnson and Jim Hopper. She is preceded in death by her eldest daughter Suzanne Hopper. 

     She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Julia and Dusty Steelman and their three children James, Alex and Elaina; Allison and Mike Fernandez and their three children Olivia, Evelyn and Lorenzo; Nick and Eva Coppula and their son Kyllian; Emma Coppula; Daniel, Josh and Tim Geary; and Michael, Jessie and Sammie Johnson.

     Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as a nurse in the nursery at West Penn and Fairmont General Hospital for over 30 years.

     She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and also All Saints Catholic Church. She was an avid volunteer at the Shepard’s Corner. Elaine loved playing golf, tennis, swimming and bowling. She also loved working out every day at the Bridgeport YMCA with her husband and all their gym friends.

     Friends will be received at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Father Benedict Kapa presiding.  The interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV.
