Obituary of Rebecca Pearl Stevens

Rebecca Pearl Stevens, 99, formerly of Fairmont and more recently of Valentine Personal Care Home in Elkins, departed this life on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born March 16, 1917, in Monumental the daughter of the late Stephen Ross and Ida Minerva Shriver Wilson. On May 30, 1936, she was united in marriage to Junior Edwin Stevens who preceded her in death on January 20, 2001. Mrs. Stevens was a 1935 graduate of Barrackville High School and a life time member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Becky is survived by two sons; Robert and his wife Lucille Stevens of Fairmont and Roger and his wife Pam Stevens of Elkins; six grandchildren: Robert Stevens II, Kimberly and her husband Charlie Chipps of Fairmont, Sherry and her husband Larry Marshall of Chicago, Brian and his wife Mari-Ann Smith of Chicago, Tami and her husband Scott Humphrey of Elkins, and Todd and his wife Lisa Stevens of Fairmont; six great-grandchildren: Mathew Marshall, Julia and Jamie Smith, Evan and Ethan Humphrey, and Gunner Chipps. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Wilson, and a son-in-law, Joe Elkin, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Elkin of Chicago; two brothers, Ralph Wilson and Robert Wilson, as well as six sisters: Doris Wilson, Flora Audia, Nellie Jarvis, Frances Ball, Imogene Ball and Patricia Stump. Serving as pallbearers with be, Todd Stevens, Scott Humphrey, Charlie Chipps, Robbie Wilson, Evan and Ethan Humphrey. Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont WV 26554, on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 9:00 A.M until 11:00 A.M. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Evangelist Jonathan Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Monumental Cemetery in Monumental, WV.
