Obituary of Jester Curtis Kerns

Jester Curtis Kerns, 87, of Fairmont passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fairmont on July 22, 1931, a son of the late Benjamin Harrison Kerns and Della Vern Sager Kerns. Jester was preceded in death by his loving wife Dula Laurence Woodrum Kerns.

Jester is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Moore of Marmet, WV; two grandchildren, Robert Alexander Moore and Christopher Dennis Moore; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jester was preceded in death by his brothers, Vester, Wester, Kester, Chester, Lester and Nester.

Jester was a 1949 graduate of East Fairmont High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a former employee at Fairmont State College in the maintenance department and retired from Owens-Illinois after 32 years of service.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2PM until 8PM and on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 10 AM until 11AM. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11AM with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
