Obituary of Guy Edward Closson
Guy Edward Closson, 79, of Faust St., Millersville Community, Fairmont, WV, passed away Saturday evening in his residence. He was born March 27, 1939 in Fairmont, WV, son of the late David Kinkard and Margaret S. Closson Yates. Mr. Closson attended Trinity Assembly of God in Fairmont, WV, where he enjoyed Wednesday Bible Class. He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School in 1957 and earlier attended State St. Elementary School. He retired as a City of Fairmont employee as a Street Supervisor. He earlier was active in the state of California in an air craft plant. Guy enjoyed going to his naval Ships reunion. He enjoyed family travel to Yellowstone Park and Florida. He was also active at his camp on the Tygart River. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Smith Closson of Millersville Community (married 41 years), two daughters, Susan and James Johnson of Marion, Virginia and Patricia and Adam Ashby of Marion, Virginia, three grandchildren, Tiffani Escabar, Marcus Ashby, and Mia Johnson all of Marion, Virginia, three Great greatchildren, Aracell Escabar, Iliyana Escabar, and Armani Escabar all of Marion Virginia, his mother-in-law, Jean Smith of Millersville Community, a brother-in-law, Mike Smith of Millersville Community, and one nephew, Scott Smith of Fairmont, WV. He was preceded in death by his step father, Fred Yates, a niece Chrystal Smith, and numerous aunts and uncles. Mr. Closson has chosen cremation services. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Committal Service on Monday, 1-7-2018, at 1pm at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown,WV. Officiating services will be Pastor Richard Wilson. The Marion County Veterans will observe full military rites at the graveside.
