Obituary of Justin Michael Cassella

Justin Michael Cassella, 33, of Fairmont passed away due to gun violence on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. He was born in Fairmont on January 1, 1985, a son of Samuel John Cassella Jr. and Donna Lou Ashby Cassella.

In addition to his parents, Justin is survived by his brother, Trevor Cassella and his fiancé Ashley Satterfield; his grandparents, Nancy Ashby and Harry Ashby and his wife Patty of Ripley; a step grandmother, Mary Cassella; his niece, Elizabeth Cassella; as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Justin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Samuel John Cassella Sr.

Justin was a 2003 graduate of East Fairmont High School and served in the U.S. Army, serving a tour in Baghdad, Iraq. He was a sports fanatic, especially football and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Fairmont Federal Credit Union or to the Go Fund Me account created in Justin’s name.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 4, 2019, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Joel Boggess officiating.
