The worst thing that could actually happen in the beginning of the New year.
I've spent the whole year of my life with your family, being taken care of by this wonderful woman.
Although we didn't keep in touch for the past ten years or so, I feel sorrow rising up from the bottom of my heart.
I don't know proper words of prayer, but I know for sure she'll always be in my heart, no matter that now we are separated with more than just the ocean.
Holley and Chele, if I can help by any possible way, please, contact me!

May God grant all those who love Joyce a peace that passes all understanding. I know she has been ill for some time and I know Holley was steadfast by her side. I pray as you grieve, that you may celebrate the good times, knowing she is in heaven, where her body is perfect, free of pain and illness.

It was an honor and a blessing to cross paths with Joyce and Holley in my youth. Their leadership, dedication, and love was a huge factor in the development of me as a person and a Christian. We did a lot of fun things as a youth group and, in the process, learned a lot about loving God, loving each other, and loving ourselves. I am truly grateful for Joyce and Holley. Though I know the loss is not easy for those left behind, Joyce is resting in the arms of her Lord and, no doubt, hearing Him say, "Well done, my good and faithful servent"!

We grieve with you, Holley and Michelle. What pain it brings to our hearts to know what you have suffered during these last many weeks of dear Joyce's struggles. May the many good memories of Joyce bring you comfort and lead to gratitude for the time that you spent together. We love you and are grateful for the time we shared at EGBC when you began your pastoral ministry as our youth pastor. It was a wonderful time as the Lord used you and Joyce to guide many lives of our youth to follow our Lord.
One of these days we will all join Joyce in heaven's glory and share in eternity where death and sorrow and partings are no more..
God grant you strength and courage!

The first time I met the Faulkner family was when you attended the welcome reception at Baptist Temple. I still remember thinking what a beautiful little family you were, and - of course - I fell instantly in love with Chele. My first impressions of Joyce were... how lovely she was. She had such a sweet, calm radiance about her. I was to discover that she had a dry wit that could make one shake with laughter. She wasn't the typical "pastor's wife," she went her own way without apology, and I loved her for it. We always had a good time together, whether in person or on the phone, and I came to realize how special she was---non-judgmental, straight-talking, supportive of her friends and family and what a great mind! One of the most intelligent people I've had the privilege to know. Seeing how she handled her illness was beyond inspiring. Once, when I said that I was sorry that she had to put up with all the indignities of living with MD, she leveled a look at me and replied, "Better me than you." And she meant it, God bless her.
The world is a poorer place this morning, but I know without doubt that she was welcomed into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, and I can imagine her dancing with Holly Elizabeth in her arms, no more illness or sadness, only joy and peace. And another beautiful voice for the heavenly choir. When I left her on Sunday afternoon, I whispered in her ear that, when next we saw each other, we would be leaping, dancing and rejoicing. I look forward to that day.
All my love to Holley, Chele and Donald. May the grace of our Lord envelope you in these days of sadness and give you peace.

Holley, I remember when you and Joyce first came to Beckley FBC. You were only a few years older than we were as high schoolers but you both seemed so mature in years, wisdom and knowledge of our Lord. We loved you so. We especially loved Joyce. She showed us such love and was always there to council us when we were in need of a second mother or a best friend. She had a peaceful spirit and and old soul. She always taught us how to be a godly woman and wife. She will never, ever be forgotten. It has caused me pain all these years to know that she was suffering so much on a daily basis so it is equally comforting to know that she is completely healed. I will continue to pray for your and your daughter and ask that you let us know of specific ways we can pray for you. I know that some days will be harder than others and some days your needs will be different from others. You were both very special to all of us in the youth program and I am sure you have been treasured at every church you ever served at.
Love and prayers,
Trish
