Obituary of Rebecca Ellen Ford Phillips

Rebecca Ellen Ford Phillips,75, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on April 12,1943, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Joseph F. Ford II and Wilma Emrick Ford. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Delbert and Helen Phillips.

She will be terribly missed by her loving husband of 53 years Delbert “Butch” Phillips; 
two daughters, Julie Kline and her husband Rick of Jupiter, FL and Susan Swiger and her husband Steve of Fairmont; three adored grandchildren, Sam and Shay Swiger and Zoie Kline; a sister, JoAnna Ford White and her husband Jim of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Joseph F. “Bud” Ford III and his wife Karen K.; four nephews, John Strother and his wife Vonda, David, James and John Eric King and their families; three nieces, Jill Wright and her husband Brandon, Lauren Ford, Molly L. Allen and her husband Norm; and a sister-in-law, Barbara King and the late James King of Locust Grove, VA.

Becky was a graduate of Fairmont State University and earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from WVU. She was the librarian at East Fairmont High School and was a member of the East Fairmont Foundation, Fairmont State Foundation, Gateway bell choir, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, ADK Teachers Sorority, PEO, Marion County Library Board, Friends of the Library, and Professional Readers Book Club. She was named an Outstanding Alumni of FSU.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Tim Edin officiating.
