Obituary of Erma Joan Sindeldecker
Erma Joan Carlson Sindeldecker, 83, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the St. Barbara’s Nursing Home in Monongah. She was born May 22, 1935 in Benwood, WV a daughter of the late Reverend Earle Neil and Erma Johnson Carlson.
Ms. Sindeldecker was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairmont. She was a graduate of the Fairmont General Nursing Program. Erma lived in Cleveland 51 years before moving to Fairmont. She retired as a registered nurse with the Cleveland Health Department where she worked with several nursing homes in the Cleveland area. Erma was a member of the St. John Bosco Ladies Guild and Support Group in Cleveland.
Survivors include her sister, Rosemary Phillips and her husband Bill of Fairmont, her nieces and nephews, Dan Phillips and his wife Sonia of The Woodlands, TX, Christy Miller and her husband Chip of Fairmont, William Phillips and his wife Rina of Tokyo, Japan, and lifelong friends, Billie and Dean Honaker of Bunner Ridge, great nieces and nephews, Tessa Gaunt and her husband Ray of McDonald PA, Toni Fikes and her husband Trent of Hoover AL, Danny Phillips of Maricopa, AZ, Christopher Redleman and his companion Rachel Dotson of Fairmont, Joshua Redleman and his wife Larissa of Houston, TX, Kenzie Phillips of Tokyo, Hadyn Phillips of Tokyo, Jeanine Burwell and her husband Chuck of Clarksville, PA, Leslie Miller and her companion Kerry Hopson of Franklinton, NC, and Ashley Miller of Louisville, KY, as well as great great nieces and nephews, Chloe Gaunt, Dalton Gaunt, Dylan Gaunt, Milllie Redleman, Peyton Fikes, Travis Burwell, Christian Burwell, and Alexis Burwell.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister Geneva Jeanne Carlson.

Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 319 Maryland Avenue, Fairmont on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10AM with Father Jojan Joseph, C.S.T as celebrant.
