Obituary of Richard Dywayne Parker

Richard Dywayne Parker, 55, of McCurdsville, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh. Richard was born in Fairmont on September 30, 1962, the son of Arthur Dolan Parker of Jake’s Run and the late Wilma Jean (Coen) Parker. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Gower Parker of McCurdysville.

In addition to his wife and father, Richard is survived by two daughters, Brandy Parker and her fiancé Richard Saltsman of Maidsville and Megan Riggleman and her husband Jeremiah of McCurdysville; three grandchildren, Cameron Parker, Rocky Riggleman and Jada Merrifield; a sister, Heather Lemley and her husband Don; and a mother-in-love, Claida Gower.

In addition to his mother, Richard was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Roy Gower.

Richard was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and worked in construction for Ocean Construction in Morgantown. He attended McCurdysville Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers and spending time with his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and on Monday, October 1, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
