Obituary of Clyde Raymond Moore

Clyde Raymond Moore, 82, of Rivesville, West Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018 after a short illness.  He was born October 1, 1935 in Rivesville, WV a son of Walter S. and Emma Rice Moore.  He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Mary Elizabeth Brock Moore.

Mr. Moore was a retired employee from Jacobs & Hutchinson Hardware.  He was a longtime member of Highlawns United Methodist Church.  Clyde was a founding member of the Rivesville Parent Youth Association and a member of the Rivesville Volunteer Fire Department.  He found great joy in attending auctions and sharing his treasures with family and friends.  He looked forward to sharing stories with friends over coffee at the East Fairmont McDonald’s Restaurant.

He is survived by a son Ray Moore of Rivesville, WV, a daughter and son in law Kay & Bill Napalo of Parkersburg, WV and a son and daughter in law Bob & Melanie Moore of Rivesville, WV, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  Mr. Moore was preceded in death by an infant brother Russell Lee Moore, a teenage brother Walter Virgil Moore and 2 sisters Dortha Drake & Hazel Metz.

The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 1-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 10-11 a.m.  The funeral service will be held Thursday in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.  The committal service will follow in the McCurdysville Cemetery in McCurdysville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
