Obituary of Pauline "Polly" Snyder

     Mrs. Pauline (Polly) Williams Snyder, 94 years of age of Maple Lake, Bridgeport, WV passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV.  She was born June 20, 1924 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of the late Percy and Cleora Dixon Williams.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Clifford Snyder in 2013. 

     On April 3, 1944 she was married to Eugene C. Snyder, an Air Force Cadet, stationed in Tulsa.  They were blessed with sixty-nine years of marriage and three children.  She is survived by two sons  Ronald Lee Snyder and his wife Sue Warder Snyder of Bernville, PA and Kenneth Lynn Snyder and his wife Rae McKinley Snyder of Melbourne, FL. and one daughter Paula Jean Snyder Flint and her husband Roger of Maple Lake.  She is also survived by three grandsons Steven S. Snyder and wife Shelly Gardner Snyder of Schnecksville, PA and their children Reese M. and Chase J. Snyder, Justin L. Flint and his wife Christina Wienke Flint of Queen Creek, AZ and their children Grayson L. and Sydney M. Flint and Todd M. Flint of Fairfield, CA; two granddaughters Leah M. Williams of Bridgeport, WV and her children Cole M. and Mason L. Williams and Taylor J. Caschera and her husband Brandon of D’Iberville, MS and their daughter Aubree Cashera and  one sister Betty Jo Thompson of Supulpa, OK.  She was also preceded in death by a brother Lonnie E. Williams of Tulsa, OK.

     Mrs. Snyder worked as a Long Distance Telephone Operator in Tulsa after graduating from Will Rogers High School.  After her marriage and World War II ended, she and her husband made their home in West Virginia.  She worked part time with her husband in Snyder’s Hobby Shop and retired from Sutter Roofing & Metal Company, after 19 years as Secretary and Pay Roll Clerk.  She was a member of Maple Lake Club for 65 years and was a past President of the Maple Lake Woman’s Club and was a secretary for the Maple Lake TV Club.  She was a member of the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church.  She loved to keep house and clean, but hated to cook.  However, she cooked most Holidays, birthdays and had special meals for her family.  She loved playing Canasta and Scrabble and walking around the Lake.  Each of her three children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren were always number one in her eyes.

     Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral  Home, 215 East Main Street on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 11:30 AM – noon.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon in the funeral home with Pastor Robin Ray presiding.  The interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV.
