Obituary of Della Ayer Phillips Bell

Della Ayer Phillips Bell, 67, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Rivesville on April 14, 1951, a daughter of the late Guy Lester Phillips Sr. and Goldie Virginia Phillips Brotosky.

Della is survived by her children, Kellie Walker and her husband Frank of Morgantown, Christel Thorne and her husband Johnnie of Rivesville and John Watkins and his wife Sissie of Fairmont; 11 grandchildren, Eric Walker, Tieria Walker, Frank M. Walker, Deidra Walker, Ashley Parker, Chris L. Watkins, Brandon Thorne, Courtnie Thorne, Justin Markley, Krista Watkins and Paige Powenski; many great grandchildren; a sister, Dixie Ashcraft as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her husband George Leonard Bell Sr. and six siblings.

Della was a Seventh Day Adventist by faith and enjoyed cooking, camping, boating, swimming and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. A committal service will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery.
