Obituary of Evelyn Carol Martin Laya

Evelyn Carol Martin Laya, 77, of Fairmont, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born on July 29, 1940, a daughter of the late Max Amos Martin and Pearl Gladys Stanley Martin.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Pamela R. Barth Haught of Rivesville; three grandchildren, Evan A. Smith, Samuel D. Smith and Robert Barth; a brother, Jon M. Martin and his wife Sharon of Cross Lanes, WV and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin W. Barth and a sister, Phyllis A. Bennett.

Evelyn retired after 38 years of service at Westinghouse and North American Phillips. She enjoyed traveling and working crossword puzzles.

In accordance with Evelyn’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private committal will take place at a later date.
