Obituary of Leonard Lynn Hood II

Leonard Lynn Hood II, 82, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Leonard was born in Fairmont on November 15, 1935, the son of the late Leonard Lynn Hood and Madeline Estel Prickett Hood. He is survived by his loving wife, Willa Mills Parks Hood.

In addition to his wife, Leonard is survived by a step-son, William Lee Parks of London, KY as well as many cousins including Robert D. Hood of Fairview.

Leonard was a honorably retired Presbyterian minister who served for 30 years in Wooten, KY and Hyden, KY. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Buckhannon where Leonard served as the Special Presbyter for Quadrant 4 and as pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Buckhannon, retiring in 1999. Leonard and Willa then moved to Fairmont where Leonard continued to supply preaching to area churches. He enjoyed reading, birdwatching, taking walks, and spending time with family and friends.

A committal service will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairmont on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 10 a.m. Following the committal service, a memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 301 Jackson St., Fairmont, WV 26554, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Elise Renee Neal and others officiating.
